Model 585 is used to upgrade entrance doors and gates with a special mortise for the lock. Unlike 2580, it is fitted with a cylinder latch that deadlocks automatically when extended 14 mm with the deadlocking latch depressed. The latch can be held open, and operation with an electric strike is supported.
