A five-star hotel on Lake Como designed by Patricia Urquiola, whose own AXOR Urquiola collection is used in the bathrooms in Brushed Nickel and Brushed Red Gold.
Il Sereno is an intimate five-star hotel on the shore of Lake Como. Patricia Urquiola designed both the architecture and the interiors: a modern volume set in a historic landscape outside, carefully chosen materials and large lake-facing windows inside.
Bathrooms are lined with hand-finished silvery-brown limestone under walnut ceilings. AXOR Urquiola basin mixers and a floor-standing mixer for the freestanding tub come in the special Brushed Nickel and Brushed Red Gold finishes, matched to the stone and wood.
Showers use an AXOR Urquiola thermostatic mixer and an AXOR Starck Baton hand shower in the same finishes. According to the owner, the colour-matched fittings merged with the other materials into one whole.
